Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support for the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise IT systems.

OPS Consulting is seeking System Administrators to work in Annapolis Junction, MD.
The System Administrator (SA) will provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. The SA will manage IT system infrastructure and processes related to client/server, storage, and network devices. This role includes both Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, system configuration, performance optimization, and user assistance in accessing and utilizing IT systems.
Working both independently and as part of a team, the SA will ensure system reliability, security, and optimal performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for IT systems.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install and troubleshoot software, and maintain system integrity.

We are looking for a Systems Administrator (SA) to join our growing team in Annapolis Junction, MD and Bluffdale, Utah.

This role is ideal for a motivated IT professional with a passion for system reliability, performance optimization, and supporting mission-critical infrastructure. As a key member of our technical operations group, the SA will:

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems

  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
  • Configure and manage enterprise-grade operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Rocky Linux, and Windows. Perform OS installation, patching, and tuning; troubleshoot system and network components; and implement enhancements to improve reliability, performance, and scalability across diverse environments.
  • Support the description of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration
  • Support and maintain HPC tools such as Slurm, PBS, or Grid Engine
  • Manage distributed file systems like Lustre or GPFS, and troubleshoot I/O performance issues
  • Monitor and maintain high-speed interconnects such as InfiniBand, Slingshot, or Omni-Path

Requirements:
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Desired:
  • Experience supporting and maintain HPC architectures including Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) and Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) systems to enable scalable, high-throughput computing.

Job Description

Ops Consulting is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support mission-critical cybersecurity modernization efforts. This position plays a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and integrating complex systems. As a key technical leader, you will guide systems engineering activities, drive security-by-design strategies, and collaborate with elite cybersecurity teams to defend against emerging threats.

The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for constructing, annotating, and publishing results throughout Phase 1. This includes configuring Docker containers to operate various AI models within both classified and unclassified networks and ensuring that CSSP monitoring tools can effectively observe these systems. They will dedicate considerable effort to integrating our AI detection capabilities into existing CSSP security tools, including developing custom Splunk data inputs, formulating Suricata rules for AI traffic patterns, and creating automated workflows within the IC. A significant aspect of their responsibilities involves bridging the gap between the AI domain and security operations, assisting CSSP analysts in comprehending system behaviors when AI functions deviate from traditional applications. Additionally, they will document all processes in accordance with systems engineering standards to ensure traceability of requirements from testing scenarios to actual security objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • A current government clearance, a background investigation, and a polygraph examination are required.
  • Experience: Minimum 14 years of systems engineering experience, with demonstrated leadership in complex system development and integration.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Docker containerization experience
  • API integration and system-to-system communication experience
  • Python or Bash scripting
  • Linux system administration

We are a looking for a Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Herndon, VA to design, secure, and operate enterprise computing platforms spanning Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops with NetScaler as well as Linux-based infrastructure. You will deliver Tier-4 engineering and O&M, modernize services across on-prem and multi-Cloud environments, and collaborate with network and security teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Tier-4 engineering support and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.
  • Design, implement, and sustain enterprise virtualization and compute platforms and associated services.
  • Develop engineering artifacts including designs, implementation/migration plans, build guides, and runbooks; brief technical review boards as needed.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and validation using scripting and configuration-management tools (PowerShell, Bash; Ansible/Puppet/Terraform).
  • Establish and maintain system baselines; perform OS/software updates, upgrades, and patching; drive reliability and performance improvements.

Desired Experience:
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents

  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions fine the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan
  • Develop system design solution that satisfies the system requirements and fulfills the functional analysis
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structure (WBS), work packages and the integrated master plan (IMP)
  • Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle
  • Derive from the system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the functions that a system component must fulfill, and ensure these requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable
  • Participate in establishing and gaining approval of the definition of a system or component under development (requirements, designs, interfaces, test procedures, etc.) that provides a common reference point for hardware and software developers
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non repudiation, and Availability); Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability); and Security Mechanism Technology (Passwords, cryptography, discretionary access control, mandatory access control, hashing, key management, etc.)
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions
  • Implement operational view, technical standards view, and system and services view for architectures using applicable DoDAF standards
  • Review and/or approve system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete 
  • Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository
  • Assess each risk to the program and determine the probability of occurrence and quantified consequence of failure in accordance with an approved risk management plan
  • In conjunction with system stakeholders, plan the verification efforts of new and unproven designs early in the development life cycle to ensure compliance with established requirements
  • Prepare time-line analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent functions
  • Establish a process to formally and proactively control and manage changes to requirements, consider impacts prior to commitment to change, gain stakeholder buy-in, eliminate ambiguity, ensure traceability to source requirements, and track and settle open actions
  • Manage and ensure the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, continually updating it as various changes are imposed on the system during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations & maintenance
  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process (as well as other Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes)
  • Support the development and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents (i.e., Initial Capability Document, Capabilities Description Document, IA Strategy)
  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis
  • Develop scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs
  • ​​Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas like Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, Producability, etc.)
  • Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced analysis of collection and open-source data to ensure target continuity, to profile targets and their activities.
  • Sound understanding of the principles and methods of exploiting communications and communication systems to identify, collect, analyze process and disseminate information in accordance with established requirements and priorities.
  • Analyze DNI data for reportable intelligence information and building target profiles
  • Maintain appropriate databases for targeting, tasking, and analysis
  • Perform sustained target analysis and enhancement through the use of DNI and DNR analytic techniques; analyze DNI data to identify new access development opportunities for follow-on collection requirements
  • Identify intelligence gaps and evaluating the intelligence gathered in order to either tailor current collection or enable new collection to close the gaps.
Required Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years demonstrated experience within the Department of Defense (DoD) as a Target Digital Network Analyst. 
  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Prior demonstrated experience in the use of software applications and databases associated with network analysis and target development.
  • Capable of running basic DNI and DNR queries to answer specific questions with existing customer tools.
  • Possess a basic understanding internet protocols, digital telecommunications technologies, and internet routing.
  • Possess a basic understanding of SIGINT collection.
  • Capable of basic target discovery and collection triage.
Security Clearance:
  • A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.
